I loved it when I first saw it. On further viewings however it becomes tiresome and cliché.

The first Tremors is a fun piece of dark comedy that never takes itself too seriously and features some pretty effective action scenes.

It has a cool ending. And, there are some other cool scenes in the movie. So, all in all, not bad.

The reason Tremors works so well is that it doesn't take itself too seriously, yet has an original idea that seems plausible. It's a little cornball - but you can tell the actors are having fun - especially a gun-toting Reba McEntire.
