Phoenix was outstanding as the Great Johnny Cash. Moving, dark look at the life of Mr. Cash and his years-long struggle to beat addition and win the heart of his true love, June Carter.

Ive never been a huge fan of Johnny Cash but Joaquin Pheonix made me care about the film. This was one of his better performances. Reese Witherspoon proved that she isn't going to be typecast in the dumb blonde roles. Overall it was a little dull but still entertaining for the most part.

The best biographical movies that has ever been done. The casting was perfect, as were the voices. John and June cash would have been very proud of the finished result of the movie ther started on before their passing. Anyone who love or even like Johnny Cash music would love this movie.

Reese Witherspoon shouldn't have an Oscar, but she was the best actress contending for that year. A thoroughly enjoyable movie, T Bone Burnett was able to get Joaquin Phoenix to sing perfectly! A lot of Johnny Cash fans had problems, but since I wasn't the most familiar with the Man in Black, I was able to enjoy this.

A terrific film that is cast perfectly with the music to match. I'm usually not one for semi-biographical anything, but this was done right. The relationships, the story and the music all come together to form an amazing film.

I really like Joaquin Phoenix and Reese. And this film is a very pleasant experience. Nothing beyond something incredibly spectacular, but it was very well done. I bet that if you're a Johny Cash fan, you'll love it.

This in my opinion is one of the best b io pics of all time. This movie shows the life, of one of America's greatest singer/songwriters. The late Johnny Cash it goes from his childhood when is brother died, to when he joined the Korean War. from his first wife to when he met his second and final wife June it stars Joaquin Phoenix as johnny and Reese Witherspoon as June. It is an awesome movie and i would recomend this to anyone. Even if your not a johnny cash fan.

The music makes this movie, and with out it, it would be nothing. The pacing is good, the story (his life) is good, but I would not care if I never saw it again. Strangely enough, the movie was very similar to "Ray."
