Perfectly Predictable

Here's a paragraph from a story I read which alludes to this movie: "They bought their tickets to ‘A Path Not Forgotten’ and a tub of popcorn and went into the dark theatre to find some good seats.
The previews set the tone; watching them was like power-chugging a 2-liter bottle of pure maple syrup while crying your eyes out at the funeral of a new-born puppy, or some equally emotionally manipulative dreck.
The feature film itself started off with this perfect young ‘princess’ who somehow catches AIDS while helping a kindly homeless man find the strength he needs through Jesus. A bit later the rebellious and quite obvious main love interest of the heart-broken girl entered the film with a screech of burning tires and a display of uncaring ‘cool’ sarcasm. Jonny groaned …

A Movie for anyone with a Heart!

Landon (Shane West), a preppy jock who hangs with the popular crowd gets in trouble with the law and as punishment has to join the drama club. There he struggles but is helped with his lines by the geeky and boring Jamie (Mandy Moore) who Landon and his friends used to make fun of. Jamie is the minister's (Peter Coyote) daughter, a sweet, "good" girl who has very few friends and only wants to live life the best she can. The geeky girl inspires the popular guy for a 180 degree change and soon it is no surprise when they learn to find love and friendship. Jamie confides in him and tells him she has a list of things she wants to do in life but alas Jamie has a terrible secret, and soon it threatens to tear them apart forever.
