Oliver Stone's dense portrait of Wall Street broking proves little has changed in the ways of the yuppie scum since its release in the 1980s.

Examines a master/apprentice partnership, as the latter's ambition meets the former's greed. The workings of wall street are detailed, yet simplified. All of the money swapping madness is made understandable through the determination of the two main characters. The film makes a strong case agains the shady deals of insider trading. Douglas's Gordon Gecko is a memorable villainous being. He talks as a convincing businessman, but his intentions lie solely with his own gain.

Wall Street is an introspective view into the "me first" financial culture of the 80's. It's a little less controversy ridden than the usual Stone film and much more straight-forward than the director's other films. The real lynchpin of the film is the landmark performance by Michael Douglas as the slimy Gordon Gekko.

Given today's recent financial problems, watching this movie now takes on a whole new meaning. I was too young to really know its impact in its day but it still has relevance in today's culture. Michael Douglas is fantastic as Gordon Gekko and he really carries the film. Charlie Sheen's limited range plays to the character's strength here, and Daryl Hannah is famously miscast in her role. A good film that still holds up today.

A film that gets much better as it goes on the beginning is a bit boring and slow, but gets interesting later. one acting awards this film seems to have not been deserved best actor a little to cartoony villain that isn't all that entertaining and worst supporting actress. Its music makes it a bit dated as does the look, and you really do not learn too much about Wall Street in it, but the ending picks up a little bit but not enough. Oscar Win- Michael Douglas Best Actor 2/5- He character is a cartoon and he doesn't not help he mostly just says about how good he is at being greedy the only scene he is really all that good in is the greed is good scene. He is not entertaining enough to be as over the top as he is.

This movie started out a little slow and had some boring points, but I'd say that it got better as the movie progresses.

"Greed, is good." So goes the quote and so goes the movie. Gordan Gecko (Michael Douglas) is a millionaire and Bud Fox (Sheen) wants some of that. But, then Fox suddenly has a change of heart.
