A mixed bag of songs, scenes, and sets that are charming at best and indifferent at worst. "The Wiz" is an original take on Oz story for sure, but its strangeness doesn't achieve any great heights the way the timeless 1939 classic did.

Wow this movie was really awful. I think I only liked two of the songs- and both of them were the ones that featured Michael Jackson.

A decidedly bizarre take on The Wizard of Oz - some of the songs are pretty good, but for the most part I would stick to the original tale.

Movie adaptation, of a strange musical re-working, of an already classic musical film/storybook. The whole thing is visually uninspiring, poorly written and just plain boring. The only merit here is that there is much room for parody.
