Double indemnity is effective as a thriller, because you want to see where it goes and what happens in it. It had good performances from both Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G. Robinson. My only real problem with this movie is that Fred Macmurray is a little bland, and the character himself is just a little to easily convinced to kill.

I think this was the first (OF MANY) Billy Wilder films. I was definitely intrigued. And very scared of Barbara Stanwyck for years to come. I saw this about three years ago and only got over my fear of Barbara this year after seeing some of her other movies.

The best film noir. Barbara Stanwyck is the epitomy of femme fatale. One of the darker movies of the era.

It was really good at times, but sometimes, I just didn't care how it ends. Another one of those movies that would have been better in the 40's.
