Psychological, shocking and gross. It hits all the points with great accuracy. One of the best horror films to come from Japan.

Hey there drudgees! Have you been good or did you set up a fake movie audition so thats you could screen potential smoochies for the loving and caressing? You naughty boys! Those crazy gals with sharp pokey thingees and drugs are always attractive at first! I more than definitely needed a snuggle buddy here, drudgees. This one is so cute, like a bear, but then it dives off a cliff and snorkels into OH HOLY CHRIST ONA CROSS!!! water. You know, like a bear with a shark roped to it's back. How ever could we stop it? And this my cuddly drudgees, never stops. One of the best, and don't go calling yourself a bat-drudgee unless you've peeked it!

I liked it. It was disgusting, nasty and tasteless..., everything a good horror flick should be!

Miike shows an uncharacteristic restraint here that he would do well to adopt more consistently. This film is nearly perfect, slowly, languidly building up a lonely widower's infatuation with a beautiful, gamine young lady, dropping in hints of madness, and then going for the jugular in the final half hour. The performances are quite good, nicely understated and wholly believable. While some might find the dreamlike beginning to be a bit slow-moving, it perfectly sets up the films latter stages, as the protagonist's misbegotten romantic efforts give way to horror. This is the feminist critique and cautionary sexual tale that Fatal Attraction wanted to be. Highly recommended.

One of the most shocking films I've ever seen. Miike is indeed a master of horror. Not only for making it gory, but also for his own personal technic for filmmaking. A must see for any horror fan.

This movie is just about flawless, except it has a slow beginning. The rest of the movie makes up for it though. It leaves you spinning, wonderful what went wrong? It goes beyond most horror films and gives you everything you could want or more. Definitely unforgottable. I think there should be an American remake. A good one. Wouldn't that be fun? I think so, but don't think anyone is up to that challenge.

If the last 15 minutes of this film don't leave you squirming, you should seek professional help. It starts out sweet enough, but you know it's just building into something really, really bad. Truly unsettling & painful to watch.
