With its sprawling settings and roaring action set-pieces, "Castle in the Sky" showcases Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's knack for visual panache.

An appealing family orientated anime with the usual themes of good triumphing against evil and an eco-friendly spirituality permeating the lavish visuals, together with the usual comic relief. "Pleasant" is the most fitting adjective.

Beautifully drawn animation, charismatic characters and amazing story, it features one of the most emotional and superb intro to an animated feature I have ever seen! The soundtrack is simply perfect.

Miyazaki is the master of beautiful and intricate visual landscapes. There are some truly awe-inspiring sequences in this film, which also includes memorable characters, some great comic relief, and a nonstop, action-oriented plot.

As with all of Miyazaki's excellent animated films, Castle in the Sky is full of vibrant animation, a compelling story and lots of heart. The American casting is done well on this release - a great animated film that everyone should watch.
