It might have come out incredibly early in Hitchcock's career and been a lot lighter in tone than his later thrillers, but that doesn't mean this comic mystery shouldn't be rated up there with the features from his peak era.

Mysterious and comical. This is lighter in tone, for a Hitchcock film. Some good fun.

This is an underappreciated early gem from Hitchcock. It features the right blend of light comedy and mystery to remain interesting and thrilling until the unsuspecting conclusion.

While "The Lady Vanishes" may not have the trademark Hitchcock look of some of the Master's later films, it is still terrific. While it may seem dated, and this is Hitchcock's early work, the film still has all the trademarks of the Master of Thrillers.
