I was going to re-watch Marty, but watched this instead. What a surprise to hear Marty mentioned throughout the film. It was basically Marty, but with some humor. Definitely not the caliber of Marty. Some quirky characters and only a little "what do you want to do tonight?" Not as satisfying an ending as Marty, either. The question of why would anyone do a remake of Marty was put in this. Good question.

I really like Jeff Garlin in Curb Your Enthusiasm or even his short appearances in Arrested Development, but maybe that was the problem, cause I was expecting something else. I think the film wasn't funny at all, but maybe I was just expecting something more Curb Your Enthusiasm-ish. Also, that "big guy who can't find a girl"-thing is getting kinda old, and none the less I like Jeff Garlin, his acting skills seem pretty limited.
