Plenty of crackling dialogue and left turns in the plot, as well as the appealingly seductive Barbara Stanwyck, make this classic screwballer unmissable.

This film rests solely on Stanwyck's shoulders. Her presence elevates this so-so story. Without her, it's pretty much forgettable.

Henry Fonda, with his wide-eyed acting style, is perfect in his role as a bumbling and naive millionaire. Barbara Stanwyck has never been more entrancing and, when the two come together, its comic gold. Great early comedy that still holds up today.
