Kirk Douglas and Rock Hudson made a good pair of reluctant allies leading a cattle drive. Both their characters are more complex than when we first meet them. The ending is pretty abrupt and bittersweet. I feel like one subplot could have easily been resolved with a conversation.

Atmospheric, but jumbled western with well-matched leading actors that offer plenty of entertainment despite the script throwing in too much to the mix. Final Grade: B-
