Let this "Nanny" entertain you

Proving that my "Hysteria" experience was a fluke, I truly enjoyed "The Nanny" and am hopeful that future Hammer Films I discover play more like the latter than the former.
The mystery of "The Nanny" unfolds slowly. And while it never quite packs the punch that the trailers promise, it nevertheless entertains througout. It's so subtle, I'm not sure I would have realized that the main question is whether Betty Davis is an evil nanny or if the son is demented; I assumed the kid had a reason for his cruel behavior.
Even so, it turns out in the end that things didn't quite happen like I'd thought. I wouldn't call it a "twist", but not being able to predict the outcome is a definite plus.
