Secret Agent review

"Oh, I know it's war and it's our job to do it, but that doesn't prevent it being murder - simple murder!" Vintage Hitchcock in terms of the gorgeous leading damsel, well-acted, wonderful score and interesting story though not as presented in an entertaining manner. Richard (John Gielgud) and Elsa (Madeleine Carroll) together with The General (Peter Lorre) were tasked to find a German agent. Earlier works of the legendary directory were mediocre. It's antagonist could have had a better impact or character development. The title sounds great but overall this could have been improved. Secret Agent's conversations were dull and uninteresting, where the pace picks up only in the second half of the film. Secret Agent is an average suspense flick about trust, espionage and loyalty.
