A film about the late Karen Carpenter, re-enacted with dolls. Is it that bizarre? It actually isn't. Using the doll footage alongside a lot of the Carpenters hits, and intercutting with various live action shots, it creates a mood less bizarre, more oddly engrossing. Its hard to pin down but its an interesting short movie that exhibits Todd Hayne's skills as a potential film-maker.

Absolutely excellent and moving. One of my favorite movies, and it was worth the wait. Available on Todd Haynes' website.
