Just when you think you hit the bottom of the film, it ends up being a little more deeper than you thought. Its sit down interview style is unexpected, but appreciated, as it adds to the movie's realism.

Woody Allen goes Dogme 95 for his study of matrimonial disillusionment among the most parasitic of New York's faux-intellectuals. This whole film feels like a dare on Allen's part to his audience on how long they can stand being sucked into a void of insufferable, insecure, middle-class vermin before they cry out to their gods. Juliette Lewis and Allen are also a match made in hell, not so much for the customarily disturbing age gap but for the fact their combined acting abilities coalesce into whatever the opposite of charm is.
