A group of strangers are challenged to spend the night in a haunted house by an eccentric millionaire, but are the ghosts real or is there a flesh and blood murderer on the loose? The House On Haunted Hill is a classic slice of Vincent Price campiness that's certainly impossible to take seriously as "horror" in this day and age, but it still has its fair share of nostalgic charm. With its amusingly hokey introduction by Mr. Price himself who talks directly to the audience and a collection of B movie stereotypes who are gathered in the classic Agatha Christie style, the film is very much like an extended episode of The Twilight Zone. The Ghost Train standard effects and hammy performances all add to the overall kitsch appeal and the twist is obvious but fun. Silly rather than scary, but …
