More like One Missed opportunity. While the original may not be perfect, but it's way way better than this movie when it comes to exaction and a pay off.

I don't know where to start with this movie, but I don't want to talk about it too much. What a confusing mess! I have not seen the original, nor do I want to! Even though it's clearly an Eastern story wrapped in Western Hollywood garbage, it's still a ridiculously bad story. Absolutely stupid dialogue, sub-standard effects and terrible characters. And the ending was just plain awful too. The one good thing to come from it was the catchy ring-tone. That's about it. I could go on and into depth, but I hope that you have got the message by now. Utter tripe. Avoid it. You've been warned...

For once an American remake doesn't do worse than the original... unfortunately I didn't really think much of the original, and hence, this remake is just as average. You get a bunch of generic characters and generic scares and that's all.

I just wrote about the original Asian version of "One Missed Call" and said that for the first time I liked the American remake better. That is not to say that it's a great movie; I just thought it was slightly more entertaining. For one thing, the story actually took place in the United States; it was not just the same location with a teen star from the CW visiting Japan. That seemed to make it easier to follow. They're all just a variation of "The Ring", anyway. But for some reason, this one was a little more compelling than most.

Sadly, the poster is just as god-awful as the movie itself. There are shots composed with dreamy, water-color-like appeal, but they are too few to really give this film any credit. Bad writing, limp plot, high-school acting & rip-off effects - all bury any chances it may have had...Wait did it have a chance at all to begin with??? Well, maybe. The presence of the ultra-pretty Sossamon is enough to intrigue me, but she has yet to display any REAL acting talent so - overall, "Eh". I not only grew bored of Burns' tired, bags-under-the-eyes appearance, but the carbon copy "story," left me aching impatiently for it to end - what a waste.
