I was not the least bit dissapointed by Drillbit Taylor. Owen does a great job as a low budget bodyguard, and while the kids aren't as good as, say, Seth and Evan from Superbad, but they still do a good job. Probably what's one of the better comedies of 2008, I can assure you you will it least enjoy this movie to some degree. Ignore the Critics!!

A fairly typical Owen Wilson film that lacks character driven performances from the lead to the supporting cast. These kids as the main characters are not as likeable as they should be. During the course of the film I find myself lost sometimes but then again about the halfway mark it delivers a few interesting scenes. Owen Wilson plays yet the same character over and over again and frankly I'm quite tired of it. This so far from his serious role in Behind Enemy Lines, I think he should be changing his career path. Although there are very few things Drillbit Taylor has offer, all of us can certainly appreciate feel good movies like these.

Drillbit Taylor isn't bad, but it's not great either. There's really not a whole lot to say about it. Wilson plays the same character he always does. The young high-schoolers borrow way too much from Superbad, and the script is mostly either bad, or predictable. This isn't horrible, offensive, or really annoying. As far as decent comedies in theaters at the moment, this is probably your best pick, but that's honestly kind of sad.

The movie started out strong then got to be a little tired. Then the ending was good. I have to say that Owen Wilson was very good in this. Of course, he's one of my favorites, so keep that in mind. The child actors were also very good. Most of the movie was very funny, although how many times did we need to see the kids beat up? My favorite thing about Owen Wilson is that he's co-written screenplays in the past. Apparently he contributed the "holdback technique" to the story and the "Judo" line.

Despite sharing a producer in comedy-genius-of-the-moment Judd Apatow, a co-writer in Seth Rogen and somewhat similar territory, Drillbit Taylor is overly familiar, underwhelmingly funny and thoroughly predictable, Drillbit Taylor is a one-joke movie that doesn't even get that one joke right.
