If you're a fan of David Cronenberg, you'll notice the themes prevalent in his more well-known later film still here - a bit crude, but still has the director's signature touches. I love the fact it takes place in such a claustrophobic setting (an apartment complex) and that the parasite has no qualms about targeting - young, old, male, female - no one is safe. It may not be Cronenberg at his best - but it's still a creepy little tale with a twisted sexual angle.

Great horror film with super atmosphere. what makes it work so good is feeling of panic that you get from those hallways and from use of angles. it starts with advertisement for that island and that is great. creatures are really disgusting and their attacks are intense. Sickness goes beyond these creatures and it includes old people and children. Entire film is interesting and it can easly be longer. 70s were really great time for film.
