Watching 'Inside' was one of the most grueling experiences I've had with a horror film. Terrific direction gives this simple shocker great sustained tension throughout. I was constantly on edge and in total dread. Having the main woman being helpless and pregnant makes the situation much more dire, because you are even more afraid for her unborn child. The unrelenting nature is nerve racking! The detailed gore f/x compliment this intense survival by adding to the shock value and not overtaking the tension. It thrills and disturbs in equal measure. Not for the easily squeamish or frightened.

In relation to its genre, which is gorey horror, it delivers. Some very sickening scenes, but as the film progresses the bloodshed just gets ridiculous and it almost runs as a slapstick gore comedy, before climaxing with one of the most disturbing movie moments I've ever witnessed.

Overall, it was a good movie with the twists. However, it was way too gory. Although there were a couple good parts that involved extreme wounds to the face. Let's not forget the scissors which were used way better than in Meirelles' Blindness.

It starts off slow, but as it builds, Inside gets bloodier, but manages to sustain tension at the same time. The French know their horror, and this has plenty of violence, but also has a great score, lighting and plot to go along with it.

The French seem to get it when it comes to horror movies. Their no nonsense approach is refreshing and welcomed, as opposed to the watered down suck-fest PG-13 horror movies that are being churned out almost every week with their nonsensical stories and their "oh look I was gang raped in my childhood so thats why I'm evil" bullshit. I'm going to break it down in as few words a possible, a bunch of people getting their shit ruined with sharp things. If that doesn't sound appealing don't even bother.
