Sin City was better than this. This movie is just a dull, uninspiring comic book movie that doesn't have that breathtaking feel like Sin City had.

This is just a boring, confusing mess of a comic movie that plays like a Sin City rip-off which is ironic, because it was directed by the man who created Sin City.

This movie was a convoluted shit hole of bad writing sub par acting and bad directing. None of the characters are remotely likable, the attempts of humor fall miles short. This first 45 minutes of the movie are just a series of 1 liners. The only thing that helps this movie is the 1 second you get to see Eva's back side. I full heartedly thank god I only spent $3 on this movie because anymore and I would have had to punch a baby. If you have the option to see this movie or be stabbed to death, think twice about life.

The movie does everything with the Donkey balls. Taste is something personal, but this is going nowhere ... Worst film of the year so far for me!

This movie just kind of started in the middle of a story, a story most movie goers wouldn't be familiar with . . . Batman can start in the middle the spirit cannot. The movie was too cartoony for me and I like things that are a bit cartoony. The movie did not have enough character or plot to keep it going. I didn't care about the characters at all, which made the movie almost unbearable to watch. This is a superhero movie in the vein of Dick Tracey, which sticks to much to the format of comics. Really there is no reason to see this movie.

It's hard to believe that Frank Miller, an indelible contributor to the classic Sin City was responsible for this gloriously over-stylized clunker of a film; a punk-assed version of DIck Tracy with no soul. The characters are void of personality, the voice-over narration and dialogue is cheesy and distracting and the casting is limp at best. Samuel L. Jackson wretchidly glories in his role of a criminal mastermind who likes to dress up in Nazi garb and spout laughable threats. Avoid this like poisoned mistletoe. Final Grade: D-

The Spirit is an awful mess of a movie. It has an all star cast, but they are all bad in this movie for some reason (director?). The story or the lack of it of makes absolutely no sense and quite frankly the whole script is just ridiculous. So Frank, donĀ“t quite your day job...

Highly entertaining with many great lines by Samuel L. Jackson. A very unique film that may not be up everyone's alley. If you want to see something a little on the odd side, this would be it.

I won't hate on this movie too much, like everyone else. But, I have to say, I had high hopes for this movie thinking it'd be like Sin City. And, it just didn't live up to my expectations. But, it was still good movie and well worth the money.
