You know exactly where a movie like this is going to go, but "Marley & Me" is one of the few good dog movies that I actually like.

This film is billed as a comedy but its more like a serious drama with some light hearted moments about a couples relashionship and there quest to have a kid while having a naughty dog called marley. if your looking for a funny film this isn't it ( its not funny at all and doesn't really try to be ) . its billed as a turner and hooch type movie but its more like a drama of how a couple cope with work kids and a over active dog.

This comedy was better than I expected in its look at the passing years of life. I anticipated the usual lowbrow dog humor, but, instead, the film takes a strong interest in its human stars, resulting in a bittersweet look at how life and love grow over the years.

Next to The Family Man, with Nicholas Cage, this is one of the best family movies that I have ever seen. It was a great and realistic portrayal of life and marriage. I absolutely love this film.

Sure it's a simplified, condensed and most likely takes many liberties with the real story, but Marley and Me is heartwarming and a great family film. Dog owners will get more out of it, but the rest of us can learn something too.
