Oh my God was this bad. Boring as watching paint dry. None of it made any sense, there were plot holes your could fly a ship through. It was ridiculous in everyway and the actors knew it and didn't put anything into it. Waste of 2 hours.

The story is about group of extra-terrestrials arrives on earth to stop mankind from their destructive behavior, even if it means wiping out the human race. I remembered seeing this movie when it first came out and I still remember my thoughts on the film and that was being bored, yes this movie was a let down for me and the other people.

This was a major dissapointment as the original was amazing and i could not bring myself to like this film. it was in my opnion the only film that Keanu Reeves was not any good in. The only thing this film had going for itself was that the Effects were very very good..But that is it to be honest with everyone, i dont really know what else to write about this film really...a major major dissapointment

There are some beautiful special effects, but the core of this film is watered down and the result is, ultimately, boring. The plot kind of plods along without much direction and a sleepy Keanu Reeves as the lead doesn't help matters.

Keanu Reeves is still a wooden as ever (heh heh, wood), but it's more appropriate now due to his character. I think Jennifer Connelly was poorly cast and the kid isn't that great either. So far I already don't like the cast. I don't like the fact that the alien who has come to help us find peace, is doing something that would harm people. That's like a flower polluting. Plus the special effects weren't that great, they were like millions of flies and a giant ball, barely any variety. I don't immediately put down movies because they're remakes, I have hopes. I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Clash of the Titans looks good. So I don't like this movie because I just don't. Not just because I liked the original.

Other than some iffy CGI, not a bad movie. I haven't seen the original so I really can't compare it to that, but for about 90 minutes I was pretty entertained. I would have liked a little more to the ending or seen some reactions to the big final scene, but that's a minor complaint. Jaden Smith sadly gets the role of the annoying child who doesn't do much but whine and complain. Oh, and there's also the U.S. Government which plays the role of 'let's destroy everything.' But yeah, it wasn't bad.

What a piece of crap. I never saw the original, so I can't compare, but this thing was painful to sit through. What a horrible premise. It started out good, but as soon as he puts on the suit it went down hill. Jaden Smith shouldn't be in movies. I almost said he shouldn't be acting, but i wouldn't call what he does acting. Kathy Bates was almost as bad. Keanu works as an alien because I think he is one.

If you ignore the obvious product placements, bad dialogue and Jaden Smith, this movie was actually pretty entertaining at times and there were some pretty cool visual moments. Also Keanu Reeves was born to play that role, the only time the fact that he can´t act didn´t matter

I have never seen the original version, but I really enjoyed this one. Is it a perfect film? No. Does it have flaws and gaps and unanswered questions? Yes. But overall I was thoroughly entertained and remained completely interested as I watched it. I feel as though I need to see the classic version now, for a comparison, but overall I liked this movie and I loved Keanu in it.

Bad remake. For being an 'end of the world' scenario, it was pretty damn boring. Skip it.
