What started out as an ok movie got a little better as Mickey Rourke's character started exploring the relationships he had with his daughter (Evan Rachel Wood) and his stripper love interest (snore) played by Marisa Tomei (Academy Award winning actress, she did what she could with the part). It was overly brutal with all the fights, but still not as edgy as Requiem for a Dream. While it's a new spin on the old washed up guy looking for hope & redemption, it still is the same old story, albeit one infused with some humor. The character comes back just like Mickey Rourke the actor is supposed to. We'll see. Still waiting for Darren Aronofsky's comeback vehicle.
