first of all how can you even call this a movie!!! the acting is horrible. there is nothing real about the acting and it actually made me feel sorry for the actors at some points. it did have a good story line though, but that doesn't make up for the bad acting.

Kirk Cameron is definitely the icon of modern Christian movies. The movie made $33.5 million in the box office, making it the highest grossing independent film in 2008. From the apocalyptic backdrop of LEFT BEHIND, CAMERON stays in present tense, hits dead center of the marriage rut in FIREPROOF. Truly a pragmatic expose on the day-to-day onslaught on challenged vows. I for one believe that LOVE is NOT the core stabilizer of marriage. LOVE is a crucial element; however, I believe that COMMITMENT takes on center stage. " DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR HEART...LEAD YOUR HEART " , Cameron aptly puts it. A complete reversal of what modern-day love gurus would have you to believe. Definitely a "must see" regardless of one's religious persuasions.

I would be the first to admit that I thought this film was going to be chessy and corny. I was surprise to learn that it was not. It had passion, heart, and complex characters. For those who are complaining about the "acting", you have to understand that the people playing the roles were meant to play those roles. The movie made me laugh, cry, and really think about life. Go see this film!
