This is a beautiful movie. It had a good storyline. Very powerful actors and script. I am surprised that I didn't hear about it when it was released. For such an emotional movie, it is a definite a must see.

Set in the south in 1964, a young 14 year old girl is reminded of her mother at every step. The young girl leaves and heads to a small town where she makes friends with the local people who may have more information about her mother. The movie has good acting and a sold cast but the movie lacks on characters and story.

In the few and far between world of feminine films, it is a joy to see one that touches both sense and sensibility. I am not sure why The Help caused such a HooHah and why this slipped by so quietly. The storyline was strong, the characters well rounded and the cinematography, acting, pace, and casting spot on. I loved the book and I loved the film - that's rare.

When this first came out I was curious to see it, then I didn't care so much anymore. Thanks to HBO, i recorded it to watch whenever I felt up to it, and I enjoyed it. A sad, emotional movie with great performances by everyone in it. Even Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson, not so much known for their acting, but more so for their singing, did an excellent job.

This movie it amazing. It has taken actors you wouldn't of expected to see together in a movie, and made a phenomenal picture. It's a lovely story!!
