Screw those Twilight vampires - this is more like it. Dark but with a lot of heart - it pays to choose your friends wisely. I'm interested to see if the upcoming American remake can be half as good.

I had to see this movie because it's from Sweden and it has been celebrated all over the world. I didn't have so high expectations because I knew this wouldn't be my kind of movie, and it wasn't. But... I liked some parts of the movie, Oskar's "revenge story" was kind of entertaining. Another thing I like with the movie is the great cinematography that is very nice. But I guess this wasn't really my kind movie, maybe I like it in 10 years or something but right now: I don't really understand what's so great with this film.

While not including every little bit of the book, what movie does though, Let the Right One In still manages to add to and redefine the vampire genre. The complex puzzle of piecing together two lovers, one over 700 and the other in his early teens, is filled with allegorical details and captures the binding trap of a small life through the eyes of manipulative yet innocenct agendas. I won't say anymore, but the pragmatic development filled with shock leaves Twilight and the other vamp-wannabe's out to dry.

Literally coming out of nowhere, Swedish chiller, Let The Right One In is unquestionably the finest Horror Film of the last 25 years. Essentially a movie about relationships, love and vampires, LTROI is a mesmerising and hypnotic coming of age drama. Expertly crafted by director Thomas Alfredson with a perfectly paced screenplay by John Ajvide Lindquist (who also wrote the original novel) this is a film which explores dark and complex issues head on yet is enchanting and perversely uplifting. Complemented by unbelievably good performances by its two young leads, LTROI sets an extremely high standard for all future horror films to follow and sends a message to Hollywood directors that can only elicit awe and admiration.

This is the best Swedish vampire romance/coming of age story ever! Thrilling, somber, scary, romantic, unforgettable. A+++++

To take a story based on Vampires and turn it on its head into something truly original, is an achievement in itself. But to make it into a great piece of cinema is remarkable. Its cold but with a dread sense of warm blooded love. Between the two lead characters, there are moments so intimate and heartwarming that the idea of this being a horror film just falls away. Its a drama, with elements of horror, not the other way around. Beautifully crafted, this film will stand the test of time.

Not only extremely well crafted, but adorable to the point that it stains your brain. The acting, direction, frosty setting - including all of the kids in their charming scarves & thick winter coats it suits the "cool" love story, or "First-Love" story, perfectly (& of course you can't go wrong naming your story after a Morrissey song.) This is a film that deserves recognition (& certainly SHOULD NOT be remade into some unnecessary Americanized mess!)

This is definitely a movie that stuck with me. As I watched it, I thought it was all right. But later, when I was describing it to someone else, I found myself getting more and more excited about it. I guess it was the story aspect that got me excited. In retelling it, I realized how fresh and unique it really was. And there are genuine scares several times. Parts were downright creepy. I'll probably watch it again at some point, but for now, it's something that I'll not soon forget.
