One man's treasure is another man's trash.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks this movie isn't spectacular, but hear me out.
The way the movie was put together made me question what kind of movie it was trying to be.
Once again, the pacing is off at the beginning of the film. Now, almost spanning an HOUR to get into things. Granted, Ripley's character is explored much more and the mother-daughter relationship is introduced between her and the girl Newt, but it always jumped back and forth from interesting to trying to be interesting.
Some of the characters in this film have been applauded and rewarded by fans and critics… They are some of the most annoying people I have ever seen. The colonial marines are plain smart-asses who only want to shoot everything that moves and don't even slightly resemble actual marines. The …

"How could they cut the power, man? They're animals!"
Ellen Ripley (played magnificently by Sigourney Weaver) is rescued after spending 57 years in cryogenic hypersleep by a salvage freighter, and awakens only to learn that everything she knew is gone. She soon discovers that no one believes her terrifying ordeal at the hands of an acid spitting alien until LV-426 goes off the radar.
She is asked to assist a squad of fearless marines to investigate the loss of contact with colonists working at an Atmosphere Processor on the very planet where all the trouble started - LV426. Ripley is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees out of a need to resolve unfinished business and put a stop to the nightmares.
Packing enough fire power to level a mountain, the tough marines which …

"Aliens" by Yojimbo

Ripley is awakened from stasis to find that she has been gone for 57 years and is being made a scapegoat for the loss of her ship. But then contact is lost with the colony on LV 426 and she is enlisted as an adviser to a combat unit sent to investigate. The vast majority of sequels are of course just cynical attempts to cash in on the popularity of the original film and rarely have much in the way of cinematic merit in their own right. Aliens is one of the few that not only expanded on the idea of the original but took it in a whole new direction. The production design is superb and every sci-fi movie made since that features military hardware gets its cues from here, and it still looks brilliant. The ensemble cast are all excellent, especially Sigourney Weaver who is far from the usual …

Aliens review

Weyland-Yutani Corporation includes a female as a Consultant with the Marines to figure out why colony on LV-426 disappeared. Film with so many endearing characters such as Lieutenant Gorman (William Hope), Privates Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein), Corporal Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn), android Bishop (Lance Henriksen) and the tough minded heroine Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver). The young Newt (Carrie Henn) was an effective screamer and the cocky Hudson (Bill Paxton) was effectively irritating that you just want him eliminated earlier. Its conclusion has a surprise twist.
Countless thrilling scenes and astounding special effects coupled with solid performances make the smart action sci-fi flick so believable. Screenplay wasn't dull and score made it more suspenseful. One of the …

A Sequel that out shines the original!!

The first film was impressive, scary, and had my heart racing with adrenaline. This film carries the same intensity as its prequel, but this film broadens with not only its spookiness, but also with its amazing grandeur of of a new leap in visual effects. In its time, the first film had great effects, not to judge, but it was a bit on the hokey side. But with this sequel, even in my opinion till today's standards, it has awesome visual effects. The director, James Cameron, easily among the most inspiring directors of all time, captures such a story like aliens with a combination of horror, and visual effects that look real and captivating. Sigourney Weaver, plays once again as Ripley, delivering an even better performance than the first, which she received an Oscar nom for. Awakening 57 …

A Perfect Sequel

Aliens, the 1986 sequel to Alien, is one of the greatest science fiction and action movies of all time. It is thought by many that Aliens is one of those rare films that surpasses it’s brilliant original in quality. While I certainly agree that Aliens is a four-star movie I do tend to prefer the original, if ever so slightly.
The films story is courtesy of James Cameron, who would go on to write the screenplay as well as direct the film. While Fox was not originally interested in a sequel to Alien, Cameron’s story would eventually impressed Fox executives. They gave him the go-ahead provided his film Terminator was a success. Terminator did indeed prove profitable and Cameron began work on the second Alien film.
The plot – 57 years after the events of Alien Ripley is …
