While this is a terrible, hard to watch movie that plays out like a B-movie; it is a must watch due to the shocking ending. Wish this would have been casted better because the story is a disturbing one that keeps you watching. WORTH a watch. Will never re-watch.

Crime drama film written and directed by Nick Cassavetes, first screened at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2006, with a wide release the following year on January 12, 2007. The film is based on the true story of the kidnapping and murder of 15-year-old Nicholas Markowitz and related events in 2000. It portrays the involvement of Jesse James Hollywood, a young middle-class drug dealer in California.Extremely rough and unpleasant movie.

The issues with the movie were the beginning was very convoluted. Then once the movie got going it became a very good movie. However at the end it left a few hole that should have been answered. Over all it was an enjoyable movie but could have been better.

This film is dark and devastating and features some great understated performances from Justin Timberlake and Anton Yelchin.

Alpha Dog is a disaster of a movie, with everything going wrong right away. An interesting premise is ruined due to bad direction by Nick Cassavetes. An beyond awful screenplay and just terrible acting. The whole cast is bad, except for the veteran actors (Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone, Harry Dean Stanton and Dominique Swain). The actors (specifically Justin Timberlake) are reduced to saying pitiful dialogue, that's just embarrasing. The ending, that's supposed to be important, is done with such carelessness, that it puts an awful bookend to an already dreadful movie. a waste.

Great movie. Justin Timberlake surprised me. I mean REALLY surprised me. He does a pretty darn good job. Emile Hirsch is very mysterious and you can't quite get a hold of his character. See It.
