Intermittently funny sequel to the charming sleeper hit. The dinner scene where Richard Dreyfus and Rosie O’Donnell freak out their guests is perhaps the best scene in the movie. But it feels like a different much better movie. Madeleine Stowe has no bearing on the plot at all. Miguel Ferrer is wasted as the villain. I’ll admit there was a couple times when I laughed. But it feels safer than the more risqué and edgier tone in the first movie. It doesn’t help that it was downgraded to a PG-13.
