"Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time" by Yojimbo

A prince of ancient Persia discovers a mythical blade that can turn back time and uncovers a plot to usurp his father and claim the throne. Prince Of Persia is a Disney financed summer blockbuster that was clearly a somewhat cynical attempt to mimic the success of the POTC franchise but actually manages some success as an entertaining swords and sorcery adventure. Jake Gillenhaal makes a surprisingly good swashbuckler and he and Gemma Arterton make for an attractive couple, Alfred Molina is an amusing comic sidekick and the format of a combat platform game lends itself to the current fashion for parkour style action very well. The dialogue is unimaginative but serviceable and the likeable cast keep things fun and interesting for the duration. What prevents it from being a good film …

I only went to watch this film so I could spend some time with my brother and because Jerry Bruckheimer produced it, but wow was I blown away! It was an awesome experience entirely and every single person on earth should watch it. The plot is original and moving, but the execution is phenomenal. I was captured mind and soul by the amazing story, cast and effects. I have never seen its equal anywhere and am convinced that an equal does not exist. The actors are natural and convincing and Mike Newell truly made an amazing film. Jerry Bruckheimer is a producer who ought to be seen and appreciated, he truly …

As a summer film, Prince of Persia delivers exactly what I want: lots of action, plenty of great effects and interesting, if not so well-developed, characters. Like many other summer films, it was also pretty predictable on plot and story.
Jake and Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton are very pretty people and they make a pleasant enough bickering couple - the orphan-turned prince with amazing parkour skills and the outspoken, proper princess. Since this is Disney chesty Jake is only chesty for a short time, and don't even thing about sexual …
