I really did enjoy this movie. I think that Sandra Bullock did a wonderful job, but possibly not the Best Actress of the Year. I thought she did an amazing job and she is such a down-to-earth woman, I think she deserved her accolades. As a film, each actor pulled their metaphorical weight and built together a fine foundation in which to tell a story of a truly unique and wonderful woman and the young man who was a true inspiration.

This movie gets an extra star for being based off a true story. The movie itself is predictable and cliche as are the characters and I question how much of it was true to life, especially with the exuberant younger son training the gigantic football player. While I do agree that Sandras acting was great in this they don't really develop her character enough. This is more a tall of a snipit of time for these people and your left without really knowing much about them, or why they do the things they do. If this movie hadn't been based on real events it's just about as cliche as they come, poor black boy gets a chance encounter with a rich white family and changes himself, and the white family for the better.

Going into this movie, I was hoping to be entertained. I was amazed with what I got! This is easily one of the best "sports" movies made in years. It reached me on so many different levels in so many different ways, I couldn't believe it. It's one of the few movies I can remember crying within the 1st 20-minutes, in the middle, and at the end, all for different reasons! Sandra Bullock easily played the role of her career. This is a must see.

Whether you are a football fan or not this is an AWESOME family movie. Very inspirational and uplifting. It made me want to be a better person and reach out to others! It ranks right up there with FIREPROOF and FACING THE GIANTS. I highly recommend this movie for everyone and can't wait to add it to our DVD collection at home!!! PS...you might want to bring kleenex!!!

Though marketed as a sports movie, The Blind Side is really about the life of Michael Oher, an impoverished youth taken in by a wealthy family and given a better chance to succeed in life. Funny, touching, and emotional, this film is one of the better sports-inspiration stories you'll see, primarily because of its cast, especially Sandra Bullock, who turns in a career-best performance.

The Blind Side is surprisingly funny, yet still very touching. It was nice to see a sports movie show how much work it is to succeed. The movie was also exceptionally well cast with all the characters really seeming to fit together. Overall, a great sports movie and a pretty good drama.
