This is an early musical that still places Broadway spectacle above trying to tell a believable story, so the romance comes across as a little Pollyanna and silly. The song and dance number, however, are vintage Hollywood.

I love Janet Gaynor and she was really cute and sweet in this film, where she tries to find true love at the state fair.
