One of the original, and hence better, underdog-sports-comedies. It's crude, but a suitable family film (for older children) and it has a good message under all the beer-swilling, bad-mouthing and dirty plays.

This is a terrific movie! A real classic and quite cutting edge for its time (or so I am told). Lewd children? Drunken coaches? Whats not to like? This is both a family (for older children) and sports classic. It is about baseball after all. If you haven't seen it you really should.
