In a time when turmoil and the fight for liberties are happening in nearly every corner of the globe, it is almost impossible to not see the relevancy "The Battle of Algiers" still has. The violence and action are so startling because the conflicts they spawn from could happen (and has happened) virtually everywhere.

This film is brilliant. The documentary-style approach brings the plot and drama to a whole new level of realism and it's about an era of history that I didn't know a lot, but that, after seeing this film, I was prompted to investigate.

It's shocking how realistic and objective this film is. Devastating piece of filmmaking. Morricone did the score.
