The story is about a couple of young kids find a deserted beach paradise. This could have been a great movie but sadly i wasn't. Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't good in the movie and that was a big shock and the movie is mostly dull and forgettable.

Richard (Leonardo DiCaprio) goes on a trip and meets Daffy (Robert Carlyle) who gives him a map of a beach. He encounters Françoise (Virginie Ledoyen) and her boyfriend, Étienne (Guillaume Canet). Despite the beauty of the location and cinematography, the overall execution and screenplay that bores us all to death. Pacing of the film and sappy conclusion were one of a few lowlights. Unlikable characters and poor plot development was evident. The Beach is one of those forgettable films instead of thinking of it as an entertaining adventure drama.

I remember thinking it was a lot like the book, Lord of the Flies. It's probably based on the book.

Action: 2/3 + Comedy: 0.5/2 + Good vs Evil: 0.5/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 + Plot: 0.5/1 + Music: 0.5/1 = 5.5/10 or 55%. The Beach swings for left field and lands in right field. DiCaprio is horribly miscast and never achieves the convincing persona of a geek-genius who can manipulate people as easy as his Gameboy.

One of my favourite. It had natural setting. I like the drama and I think Leonardo DiCaprio was excellent in this film.

I didn't think that this as one of his best performance. There didn't seem to be a plot to hold the viewers attention. I had trouble keeping awake through this movie
