Yeah it's a bad comedy, but if you watch the original "Death at a Funeral," you'll see the bar was not set that high.

Just to give you an idea of how astonishingly awful this film is, when I finished viewing it I considered the British original to be a comic masterpiece... and I hated the original! There is nothing even mildly amusing about this scatological sacrilege; one committed against even the conceit of originality. Avoid at all costs!

Actually surprised at how much like the original it managed to channel - most of the jokes were kept intact, as was the story, and while James Marden is no Alan Tudyk, it was still a worthy comedy that has the spirit of the original wit a different cast.

With all of the talented and funny actors this remake had, there should've been enough laughs to match the 2007 original, but there wasn't. And while there some funny moments, only a few of them had me laughing hard. Most of the funny moments in this movie came from James Marsden and Peter Dinklage. Altogether, this movie was average, I wouldn't really recommend this (although, if you haven't already, check out the original), but I wouldn't warn people to not see this.

Like most Martin Lawrence movies, it wasn't as good as it could've been. But, I'll have to knock a few more points off due to the anti-gay sentiment throughout the movie. In any case, I wanna be Zoe Saldana's next white boy lover... if she'll have me, that is..., which of course, she wouldn't. But hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

i must say,I didn't expect something great from this film, i just decided to watch the movie because of Tracy Morgan since i saw him on Cop Out (from that day and on, i love his timing on comedy) =) Tracy Morgan, himself and his performance, didn't disappoint me but the film, Death at a Funeral, is.. uhmm.. just OKAY. Still succeeded on making me laugh. =D Actors' performances were satisfying. I am looking forward seeing those actors again. The story is enough for a comedy film. I appreciate the concept that the whole movie set in just one place and one day, seldom i see movies like this. Viewers will get the story immediately. In general, The movie is just enough for entertainment.

so so so much like the original, maybe a little change here and there, and oh yeah, a black family instead of a british one :) it was fun to watch it remade, with it being so similar, but as far as laughs go, I laughed so much harder in the first one. This one had so many known actors and comedians, that's pretty much what drew me in to watch it. Sad thing though, the non-comedians were funnier than the comedians

This is one of the funniest movies that I have seen this year. james Marsden unexpectedly OWNS this film. He steals the show the way Heath Ledger does as the Joker. Obviously, this movie is not of the same caliber--just drawing an analogy. The comedy you get from Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock, and Tracy Morgan is predictable. There are moment when they are really funny, but you always know you are going to get from them and what makes comedy comedy is that element of surprise. Nonetheless, this is still great comedy and if you see this movie you will be laughing a lot.
