As delicate as a pair of butterfly wings and quiet as a church psalm, "Bright Star" has all the flourishes of a fashionable period drama.

The John Keats romance feels grounded in non-sentimental reality, which is what anchors the film and puts it a step above the average period costume drama. Although, of course, the setting and set design is impeccable.

Beautiful movie, bringing to life the poetry of John Keats while highlighting his romance with Fanny Brawne. Great acting and costumes!
