I enjoyed this modern adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. I have been meaning to read the book and then saw the movie on HBO so I gave it a try. I could see that they had tried to cram in a lot of material, some of the relationships feel rushed and kind of unbelievable. It's definitely cute but now I really want to read the book because I suspect it's quite a bit better.

"Beastly" defines love beyond physical beauty. Kyle (Alex Pettyfer), a good-looking teenager has been cursed by someone he had treated badly. She turned him into an ugly man and only he will come back to his real appearance when someone tells him "I love you". From the beginning of the film, I knew it would give not that much. It struggles on how would be the twists and turns of this fairy-tale plot. Performances by actors sorta turned me off and there were shots I thought to be awkward ones. Nothing, really as if this movie is not a work of art (sorry for that). Though, I did like the last 4 scenes of the film. :D

Oh my God!!! This was amazingly a lot better than I thought. It received a lot of bad reviews & looked quite boring, which led me to think that it was not going to be good, but was quite entertaining. My criticism towards the movie, it was really predictable, you knew what the ending was going to be right from the start. But, the way it is made to adapt & associate itself with a younger teen audience makes this movie far better than it has any right to be.
