An artistically romantic tour of Vienna accompanied by Richard Linklater's signature philosophical thoughtfulness.

'Before Sunrise' generates an organic feeling of a budding relationship through believable dialogue and performances. It's smart and understated. A generally enjoyable night of discovery between characters.

This dialogue driven romance is close to perfection; Before Sunrise is simply the story of a tourist and a French traveler who meet on a train, talk, and fall in love. Though it is simple and nothing more than a 100 minute conversation between two strangers, it's so much more. The script is absolutely perfect, with dialogue so smart, powerful, profound, and incredibly real. Add to that the brilliant chemistry between Hawke and Julie Delpy and you have an excellent film that completely takes you in. You fall in love with the characters and believe everything they say.

I waited a long time to watch this movie and I was disappointed. Just boring.

A simple plot and stream-of-consciousness script that mirrors life. Memorable if you've ever walked in similar shoes of either of the characters, which is perhaps why it registered so strongly with me.

The My Dinner with Andre for the slacker-backpacker set, this film follows J.D. and Ethan Hawke meandering through CondeNast's Vienna from dusk 'til dawn. Hawke plays the goateed American Eurailpasshole who coaxes stranger-on-a-train Delpy off the train.

An okay romantic movie. I liked this one a lot better than its sequel before sunset. I think what I liked about this one is the cast. The two seemed really well together. If you haven't seen it and looking for a movie this is worth a viewing. But I don't think that I would ever watch it again but at least it wasn't a waster of my time
