David Twohy's creepy horror film benefits from a claustrophobic setting (a WW2 submarine) and blending the expected supernatural thrills with the equally scary technical concerns with piloting a submarine deep under the sea. If it's not a ghost in the mirror, it's enemy fire. If it's not hearing voices in your head, it's the sound of the underwater pressure crushing the hull of the sub. The cast doesn't have any big name stars but they're competent in their assigned roles. Look out for a young Zach Galifianakis as one of the supporting characters.

An interesting undersea ghost story (or is it?) directed by the man responsible for cult sci-fi classic Pitch Black, this is similarly good-looking and atmospheric. The shocks are a little obvious, but it keep you guessing (is the sub really haunted, or are they just suffering paranoid ill effects from oxygen deprivation?) and Twohy creates a nice otherworldy feel, particularly in the diving scene on the exterior of the sub.

Malediction in a submarine. Starts slow, gets spooky. Atmospheric (it's a submarine so...). Things go bump and things go wrong underwater. Fair.
