Pretty much the perfect role for Mel Gibson's return to leading man stage. Here he plays the father of a murdered daughter, who investigates her death and discovers a world of conspiracy, politics, and cover ups. There are a few times it gets a little too heavy, I had to rewind to hear a couple conversations again. Nevertheless, it's a solid effort that builds to a dramatic conclusion.

Others have prefaced their reviews by saying what huge Mel Gibson fans they are. So I'll preface mine by saying that I'm *not* a fan of his in general. I've enjoyed some of his films, but I don't think he's a terribly good actor. That said, I think he really took it up a notch in this one. It's his best performance that I've seen. The film is emotionally involving (and sad) and fairly intelligent. If you're looking for a high-octane action movie, you might want to look elsewhere, but if you want a suspenseful drama, this is worth a look. Now I'm curious to see the original BBC miniseries. I wonder what they left out?

I'm gonna start out by saying I love Mel Gibson and I love just about all his work and this is really no dif ,for me edge of darkness was good but it could have been awsome I dont know why but it felt like it could have gotten more to the point and not just beat aorund the bush for so long but hey the acting is solid story is cool and the action is awsome (there could have been more action)
