Recreates but doesn't redefine heist movies of the 40s and 50s, but "The Town" still scores big when it focuses on its characters and their complicated, painful emotions.

A great film by a great director and underrated actor, Ben Affleck. The action sequences were great, it really put us in the middle of the action. My only problem was the ending, I think they all should've died at Fenway or he gets caught trying to escape. Also, what was up with Jon Hamm's hair?

I am really impressed by Affleck's directing. This movie turned out to be a well thought out and executed movie. I found this to surpass 'The Departed'. Believable characters and a thrilling ride. This is worth the watch and more. The shootouts and car chases make this movie an exciting watch, and the brains behind the writing make it a fulfilling one. I am excited to see more Affleck directed films.

A very solid crime drama that proves to me Ben Affleck still has some great directing chops. The characters and story are both gripping - the accent was a bit distracting, don't know how accurate it was either. In a different year, this could have been up for awards, but it got overshadowed. Still, a definite must-watch film.

This was a good movie, but I think I expected so much more from it because everyone talked about how awesome this was. Don't get me wrong, very much so enjoyed it, but I wouldn't call it amazing. Great acting by Jeremy Renner, and Ben wasn't bad either

Ben Affleck is proving himself to be quite a talented director. "The Town" is rooted in dark drama and rich characters, as well as the atmospheric location of New England. It also includes one of the most harrowing and realistic shootout scenes in recent crime films.

Easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Granted I was a huge fan of Gone Baby Gone and love anything to do with Boston, crime and a Harry Gregson-Williams soundtrack, but this movie was awesome. The acting was great (especially Renner) Don Draper got to swear a lot, intense chase scenes throughout the city and of course the robbery scenes were amazing. Ben Affleck is easily shedding off his "sucky actor" image and proving he can write, direct and act way better than anyone originally thought he could. The Town and Inception are my top films this year and I can't wait for them to come out on Blu-ray.

This film was utterly worth the wait. A great directorial achievement for Ben Affleck, doing what he does best (Boston stuff), and great performances by Affleck, Jeremy Renner, and Rebecca Hall. I love a good heist movie and this was right on the money - pun intended. As for the writing, "The Town" held a captivating story with captivating characters and a great, almost too good ending. A great 4-star film that should have some Oscar nods coming its way.

Crime dramas really aren't my favorites, but this one is really well done. The main story is about the after effect of the crime really, but it still has lots of great action in it. Jeremy Renner is great in this and Blake Lively suprisingly does a good job with her drug addicted character.
