Sports drama of a morally conflicted basketball coach trying to assemble a winning team but ashamed of the shady tactics he must resort to. Nick Nolte carries a lot of the movie whether he be shouting profanity at referees or in his quieter moments with Mary McDonnell. J.T. Walsh shows up as a slippery adversary of Nolte. Shaquille O'Neal might had done bad in later movies but he's fine here.

This could have been better if the characters were likable, had a better screenplay and if the white boy who could shoot was featured more. Loved the performance of Nick Nolte, who is a natural screamer (much like Pacino in his films like Any Given Sunday, Dog Day Afternoon, The Insider, etc.). If this were a comedy maybe it could have been well received. Still, the basketball scenes are nostalgic and fun to watch.

This is a decent movie. And it's, by far and away, the Shaq Attack's best movie.

What I would call a safe sports movie. It's somewhat realistic, but not gritty. Using actual basketball players is a good idea - this is definitely Shaq's shining moment on the big screen. Nothing great, but a worth a look.
