Before he tried to reinvent himself as the black Mrs. Doubtfire, Martin Lawrence had a stint as the poor man's Eddie Murphy. Blue Streak is one of those movies where it worked in his favor. It is not the most original crime-comedy but it's entertaining thanks to Lawrence and the amusing set-up. Luke Wilson and William Forsythe have their moments but Dave Chappelle is very annoying as the sidekick.

I have rewatched this movie a decent amount of times, because it seems to be on TV a lot. It isn't anything special, but a good movie. I enjoyed it. Its not very funny, the story and characters aren't very developed; yet I find something about it entertaining. Can't put my finger on it. Give it a shot.

Dave Chappelle is in this movie for two brief scenes and he manages to squeeze out one short laugh, which is more than the actual star of the movie can muster in his entire career.

A film involving Martin Lawrence acting funny not being funny but trying to act funny. I did not find him very amusing and the film besides his bits is just your routine comedic cop picture that gets somewhat serious near the end. Like those others it falls to the lead to make it. Lawrence does not do it and the film fails for that reason.
