Not a good movie today. Just imagine how unbearable would it be to watch two hours of this. Some moments are pretty boring and sometimes you cant even clearly see whats happening. However if you are thinking about it you are witnessing piece of history. Just that is great about this film. I can imagine how interesting it was for people to watch it back than. Shooting, throwing man from the train and of course brilliant ending. It is probably why i gave it 2.5 stars. Its really brilliant even for today standards. Can you imagine how was it in 1904?

One of the earlier crime films produced. Some of the acting was dreary (the man shot during the robbery), the camera direction was revolutionary such as cross cutting, double exposure composite editing, camera movement and on location. The set location and costumes were realistic while the score provided life, as if you were in a bar. The Great Train Robbery was a short, fun and picture filled with scenic locations and decent action despite its length.
