This quiet film Peru was a breath of fresh air. This was a secret personal favorite from the AFI Fest this year and quickly became a candidate for my top 2009 list. Featuring quotes like "If red is the color of your passion, then let me bathe in your menstruation," this is a jolting film that is not for the faint of heart. But it's worth it to see it for the Peruvian culture and the beautiful music.
