Bowfinger review

Back when the screenplay was funnier than its artists, having Martin and Murphy was a bonus. Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin) plans of directing a film using his savings of $2,184. He hires Mexicans for free and a gorgeous newcomer Daisy (Heather Graham). Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) rejects Bobby's script but ends up on the film together with a look alike. Eddie Murphy clearly overshadows the comedic sequences especially the "highway" and "parking lot" scenes. Script was great with lines: "Keep it together, keep it together, keep it together." from Kit and "Let's try it one more time, uh, Slater, this time *without* the erection." from Bowfinger. Only reservations this critic had were the somewhat dull conclusion and better soundtrack. The film emphasizes how Hollywood can be a hit …
