It's ultimately Bogart who is the most essential part of "The Caine Mutiny," for it's around his adamant yet paranoid captain that the plot and themes revolve.

The first hour is somewhat slow, but pays off at the end. Jose Ferrer stands out in an all around good cast. His scene at the end elevates the entire film.

Humphrey Bogart anchors this film with a disarming performance of a deteriorating military officer with questionable leadership skills. The film packs quite a dramatic punch, thanks mostly to Bogart's tension-ridden character.

I loved this movie so much, I acutally did a B-shcool paper about it in organizational design and what happens when it goes bad.. What a powerhouse performance of Bogart!!

A great little film about power and paranoia. Bogart is excellent as the paranoid captain Queeg and the rest of the cast make this a terrific military (or otherwise) film. It's worth it for the strawberry scene alone.

For anyone who thinks all Humphrey Bogart did was play Humphrey Bogart in every film, you have to see The Caine Mutiny. This is miles away from any other performance Bogart ever gave. Instead of a tough "stick my neck out for no one" personality Bogart is famous for, his Captain Queeg is a neurotic, paranoid fool. Bogart pulls it off flawlessly. The rest of the cast is also stellar, particularly the underrated Fred MacMurray. This is a wonderful film.
